ELYSIUM

ABOUT

Can parody solve the housing crisis? No. But can it create commentary on the absurdity of the situation? Maybe.

Elysium is a duality-driven, research-creation Master of Design thesis exploring the communicative utility of the dialogical concept Double-voiced Discourse. Drawing from lowbrow media, cute popular culture, and James C. Scott's framework of Everyday Resistance, the 74-page publication examines how morally ambiguous practices can be potentially reappropriated to combat political apathy and generational precarity toward Gen Z audiences.
